Greyhound sport has been practiced in Germany since the end of the 19th century. The WRV Erkrath-Hochdahl, founded in 1927 in Duisburg, is one of the oldest clubs.

In our club we enjoy the great nature of the different greyhound breeds. With us you will find breeders, sports enthusiasts and people who simply have fun with greyhounds.

The association is represented in DWRZV registered association., the umbrella organization for greyhound breeding and racing. Events such as CAC exhibitions take place regularly on our premises.

The purpose of the association is to unite sighthound friends with the aim of promoting the spread and breeding of sighthounds in all their breeds, in particular through activities in all areas of sighthound sport such as e.g. B. Training greyhounds, conducting greyhound races and greyhound breeding shows. Its tasks also include instructing its members in the species-appropriate keeping, care and rearing of greyhounds, promoting all greyhound breeds, combating dog trade and working with other greyhound breeding and greyhound racing clubs with the same objective.

In Germany, greyhound sport is an amateur sport and cannot be compared with what is associated with it in Ireland and Great Britain, for example, under the guise of professional sport. We are committed to animal welfare and want our four-legged partners to be happy. Likewise, the practice in Spain, for example, of sorting out the hunting dogs according to the season and leaving them to themselves, is not compatible with our principles for us. Our goal is to create an opportunity for people who want to get involved with these great dogs to meet and exchange ideas and to give the dogs what they need. movement and utilization.
